Hi I’m Jamie and I’m so glad you’re here.

As long as I can remember I’ve always had a passion for being outside.

When I was just 6 years old my parents gave my older brother and I the gift of a 3 week road trip out West where we camped and saw so many of our nations top National Parks.   My mom started a tradition then of collecting patches at each National Park and when we showed up to school the following year all our classmates were jealous of our patch covered backpacks and the stories of adventure we had to share.  This  is a tradition I continue to this day.

I’ve also always had an undying desire to push myself physically.  I was gifted my first mountain bike when I was just 5 years old.  My family happened to be in the Florida Everglades camping when I took it for its first test ride.  I can’t remember if the thought of quitting ever crossed my mind, yet at some point my dad started chanting “Klondike, Klondike…” (referencing the delicious chocolate covered vanilla ice cream treats they had fully stocked in the campground store) my wheels never stopped turning till I finished the 11+ mile ride.  You better believe I didn’t stop till I was in front of the ice cream cooler, mouth drooling, ready to fully enjoy my reward.  Pushing myself to get as many miles of trails in a day when I travel is still “a thing” as well.

Skip ahead about 30 years with various adventures and large cross country moves in between, here I am reengaged to explore and share the beauty God and this beautiful planet has allotted us.

With this blog I share some of these journeys in hopes you too will find peace and fulfill your sense of adventure in the woods, desert, mountains and every other wild landscape that surrounds us.

If you have any comments or suggestions please let me know. I am here for you and hope to build a community of adventurers just as passionate about finding solace in nature as I.

Since this blog is just getting started there may be some trails and trips currently available via my Instagram story highlights that haven’t migrated to this website yet…  Also they are where the best overview and visual content is.
